The city of Las Vegas was denied the opportunity to host this year’s draft, but it will reportedly be awarded the 2022 NFL Draft instead.

Mick Akers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported that it’s “100% true” the NFL Draft will be held in Las Vegas in 2022.

This had been hinted at by multiple NFL insiders for the past few weeks. Las Vegas, the new home of the Raiders franchise, was prepared to host this year’s draft, and then the COVID-19 pandemic changed everything for everyone in the nation, and throughout the world.

Next year, the city of Cleveland will host the 2021 NFL Draft — a decision that had already been made prior to the NFL being forced to move the draft to a virtual platform due to the coronavirus.

After Las Vegas gets its chance to shine in 2022, Kansas City will play host for the 2023 NFL Draft.
