Patrick Mahomes will start for Chiefs against Titans Sunday ‘unless something changes’

The Kansas City Chiefs are getting superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes back in the starting lineup Sunday for their matchup against the Tennessee Titans.

Head coach Andy Reid announced the decision during a press conference Friday.

This means that Mahomes missed just two games after suffering a dislocated kneecap against the Denver Broncos. He could have played last weekend but the Chiefs did the right thing holding him out against Minnesota, and they got a win out of it anyway as backup Matt Moore had a strong outing.

When the injury took place initially, it did not look good. The fact that Mahomes is already back in action with Kansas City (6-3) atop the AFC West is nothing short of remarkable. The Chiefs will not likely catch the New England Patriots for the top seed in the AFC but still have an outstanding chance of taking the No. 2 seed and earning a first-round bye.

Mahomes has once again been brilliant this season. Before his injury, he had completed 65.1% of his passes for 2,180 yards with 15 touchdowns and just one interception.
