No. 11 Oklahoma beats Green Bay to remain unbeaten

Rivaldo Soares had 13 points to lead No. 11 Oklahoma to an 81-47 win over Green Bay on Saturday in Norman, Okla.

The Sooners (10-0) stayed undefeated to extend their best start since 2016. The Phoenix (5-7) lost for the third time in four games.

The Phoenix had 20 turnovers, tying a season high.

The Sooners committed a season-high 16 turnovers, yet outscored Green Bay 27-7 off turnovers.

Otega Oweh added 12 points and a season-high seven steals and John Hugley IV had 11 points.

Oklahoma shot 51.9 percent, the sixth time this season the Sooners have shot at least 50 percent.

David Douglas Jr. led Green Bay with 13 points while Noah Reynolds added 11.

The Phoenix shot 30.4 percent from the field.

After Green Bay cut what was a nine-point deficit to one with just less than six minutes remaining in the first half, Oklahoma turned up the heat defensively.

The 3-pointer by Foster Wonders was the last the Phoenix would score before halftime.

The Sooners scored the last 15 points of the half to take a 36-20 lead.

Oklahoma forced seven Green Bay turnovers over the stretch, as the Phoenix missed just three field goals during the Sooners’ run.

Oweh had three of Oklahoma’s four steals during the run.

The Sooners were 4 of 6 from the floor in the stretch, with Javian McCollum scoring seven of his nine points in that stretch.

That run helped the Sooners take control of the game for good.

Another big run in the second half put the game completely out of reach.

This time, it was shooting that did Green Bay in.

The Phoenix missed 11 consecutive shots, as Green Bay went more than seven minutes without scoring.

Oklahoma reeled off a 22-0 run, as the Sooners went 11 of 13 from the floor.

McCollum had eight of Oklahoma’s 18 assists.

The Sooners outrebounded Green Bay 42-26, and outscored the Phoenix 44-14 in the paint and 21-2 on the fast break.
