Liam Coen returned to Kentucky on Tuesday for his second tour of duty as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for the Wildcats.

Coen replaces the fired Rich Scangarello, who replaced Coen when he left after the 2021 season to join the Los Angeles Rams as OC.

Under Coen in 2021, the Wildcats ranked fifth in scoring offense (32.3 points per game) and eighth in total offense (425.2 ypg) in the SEC, including fifth in rushing offense at 199.5 yards per game.

Meanwhile, Kentucky scored an SEC-low 22.08 points per game this past season under Scangarello, finishing 7-6.

“I’m very excited to welcome Liam and his family back to Kentucky,” Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops said. “It was evident that he made a dramatic impact in the one season he was with our team. He brings a great deal of knowledge, and he also brings an excitement that players and recruits can relate to.”
