Kawhi Leonard and Los Angeles Clippers reportedly agreed to new contract

Kawhi Leonard

According to a report from Shams Charania, the Los Angeles Clippers have signed Kawhi Leonard to a three-year extension of $152.4 million.

This keeps Leonard under contract with the Clippers through the 2026-27 season. The contract is fully guaranteed.

Leonard is averaging 23.8 points and 6.1 rebounds for the Clippers, who have been hot of late, winning six of their last seven games and have moved into fourth in the West, in position to host a first-round playoff series.

ESPN reported the contract will pay Leonard $52 million in the first year and $50 per season over the next two seasons.

Leonard has been healthy this season, unlike in seasons past. He is playing close to 35 minutes per game and shooting right at 52% from the field.

The report said the Clippers are negotiating a longterm deal with Paul George as well.

The Clippers will move into a new arena, Intuit Dome, next season.
