WATCH: Jean Segura exits game after taking fastball to the head

Jean Segura had just been activated from the IL hours before Saturday’s game, but his return was far from triumphant as he was hit in the head and forced to exit.

The scary incident occurred in the second inning during Segura’s first at-bat. A Trevor Richards fastball kept tailing in and hit Segura right in the head.

Thankfully Segura’s helmet protected him during this frightening incident. However, he still was a bit unsteady and was forced to exit the game.

The 29-year-old shortstop had been on the injured list due to a hamstring injury before being activated for Saturday’s game.
