Giants HC hints Daniel Jones will start Sunday against Redskins

It looks like the Eli Manning comeback tour is over, as New York Giants head coach Pat Shurmur hinted Daniel Jones is on his way back.

Speaking with reporters Thursday, Shurmur wouldn’t say definitively that Jones will start, but his comments indicated he will.

Jones missed the past two games due to an ankle sprain that required a walking boot. While he was resting up the injury, Manning showed some old magic at times but also reminded us why he was benched earlier this season with three interceptions against the Miami Dolphins.

The Giants, at 3-11 on the season, are clearly in rebuilding mode with Jones as a centerpiece. With that in mind, Manning’s time in New York is almost certainly at an end, and everyone seems to know that.
