Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes on the cover of ‘Madden 20’

Mark Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

It was just two years ago this week that Patrick Mahomes was selected in the first round of the NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Now pretty much the future face of the league, the reigning NFL MVP will be on the cover of the iconic Madden 20 video game.

Talk about everything coming full circle. Mahomes absolutely dominated in his first season as a starter with the Chiefs. He put up 5,097 passing yards with a league-leading 50 touchdowns compared to just 12 interceptions.

Now that Mahomes is on the cover of Madden, it’s an even further indication that he’s the poster boy for the NFL’s future.

For his part, the Texas Tech product isn’t worried about the infamous and overblown Madden jinx.

Why would he be? Everything that Mahomes touches turns out smelling like roses. This is unlikely to be any different.
