Georgia Bulldogs running back Trevor Etienne, the younger brother of Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne, was arrested in Georgia early Sunday morning for DUI.

Trevor Etienne is facing four misdemeanor counts — Reckless driving, affixing materials that reduce the visibility of the windows/windshield, failure to maintain lane/improper driving on the road, and DUI. His bond was set at just over $1,800, and he has since been released from the Athens-Clarke Jail.

Etienne’s DUI charge was labeled ‘less safe.’ In Georgia, this means he can be convicted even if his blood alcohol level is less than .08.

“We are aware of the charges and are currently in the process of gathering additional information,” said Steven Drummond, Georgia executive associate athletic director for strategic communications. “This is a pending legal matter and we will not have further comment at this time.”

His brother Travis parlayed a successful college career at Clemson into becoming the 25th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft after recording 4,952 yards and 70 touchdowns. Despite getting offers from Clemson, Trevor committed to the Florida Gators instead but wound up transferring after recording 1,472 yards and 14 touchdowns over the past two seasons.

Trevor is in line to be Georgia’s starting running back later this fall when he’ll begin his junior season. Meanwhile, after recording over 1,000 rushing yards in each of his first two years in the NFL, Travis is well on his way to becoming a star in Jacksonville.
