The Los Angeles Angels are looking aggressively for upgrades this offseason and the team reportedly has another All-Star hitter on their radar – Josh Donaldson.

According to The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal, the Angels have checked in on the star third baseman.

Los Angeles has also been connected heavily to star Anthony Rendon, who is the top free-agent hitter available this offseason.

While Donaldson is older than Rendon, he’s coming off an excellent season with the Atlanta Braves. The 34-year-old blasted 37 home runs with a .900 OPS last season.

If Rendon’s asking price exceeds what Los Angeles can afford, especially given the team’s desire to sign Gerrit Cole, Donaldson could be a nice alternative.
