Yankee Stadium is located in the Bronx in New York City.  The Bronx is one of the five boroughs in New York City, along with Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and Staten Island. The exact address of Yankee Stadium is 1 E 161 St, Bronx, NY 10451 if you need to plug it into a GPS.

How to get to Yankee Stadium? 

The easiest way to get to the stadium is via the New York City Subway system, but that’s not always an option for fans driving a long ways in. Here are three different types of transportation you can use to get to Yankee Stadium.

Subway

The No. 4 train (East Side) and the D train (6th Ave.) make stops at Yankee Stadium subway station, which is located on East 161st Street and River Avenue. If you are going to a weekday game the B train (6th Avenue) is also an option, but only during weekdays.

Train

Metro-North offers service to Yankee Stadium from anywhere in its service territory, so if you do live farther away, this could be a viable option for you.

Car

If you are traveling from farther away, the best way is to plug in Yankee Stadium to your car or phone’s GPS and follow its directions. Sometimes they can get a little confusing the farther you get into the city, but most times the GPS can get you there with minimal issues.

What time do the gates open at Yankee Stadium?

The gates open ninety minutes before the scheduled start of a game. The only times that the times may change is during inclement weather, special events, doubleheaders, Opening Day, the Old-Timers’ Day game, and postseason games. They rebuilt the Yankee Stadium on April 2, 2009, making it 14 years old. The original Yankee Stadium was built on April 18, 1923, which would have made it 100 years old today. It was demolished and converted into a public park called Heritage Field.

Can you bring food into Yankee Stadium?

You can bring food for individual consumption, like apples or oranges, but they must be sliced or sectioned before going into the game. Clear plastic bottles of water that are one liter in size or smaller can also be taken in, but they must be factory-sealed.

Where and how much is parking at Yankee Stadium? 

Parking at the stadium can be between $25 – $35. You must prepay for parking if you are looking to go to a game. It will be at the Rupert Plaza and River Avenue Garage where you want to park.

If you are not too fond on crowded parking lots after the game, there is a handful of affordable parking lots and garages within walking distance as well. You just might have to drive around for a little bit to find one in your price range, or one that isn’t full.

What train goes to Yankee Station? 

You can take the 4 and the D train to Yankee Stadium. It will make a stop at East 161st and the stadium is only a 13-minute walk from there. You can also take the Harlem-125th St to Hudson Line train, which will get you to the stadium. A fourth option is the B train, but that is only available on weekdays.
