WATCH: Houston QB D’Eriq King breaks Tim Tebow’s TD record with spectacular TD run

Just a few drives after tossing a 75-yard touchdown pass on the first play of the game, Houston Cougars quarterback D’Eriq King used his legs to put his name in the record books on Thursday.

King spotted a hole in the Tulane Green Wave defense, dodged a few defenders and fought his way into the end zone for a 35-yard touchdown run. The rushing score helped King break Tim Tebow’s FBS record with a rushing and passing touchdown in 15 consecutive games.

King has been a special player for Houston’s offense ever since switching to quarterback. He dominated collegiate opponents in 2018 with 36 passing touchdowns and 14 rushing touchdowns before a knee injury ended his season.

It’s a special moment when any player can break an FBS record. It has to be even more special for King to break the record of a player who is considered one of the best in college football history.
