Patrick Mahomes said Wednesday that he has reached out to Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen to discuss his comments following the Kansas City Chiefs’ 20-17 loss to the Bills this past weekend.

“I talk to Josh a lot. We’re all good,” the Chiefs quarterback said. “But I’ll keep those conversations to ourselves.”

Mahomes admittedly was hot under the collar after Kansas City wide receiver Kadarius Toney’s apparent go-ahead touchdown with 1:12 remaining in Sunday’s game was negated by an offside call.

Mahomes vented his frustration at the officials and was captured on camera telling Allen: “Wildest (expletive) call I’ve ever seen. Offensive offsides on that play, man. (Expletive) terrible.”

Allen confirmed on Wednesday that Mahomes reached out to him after the exchange.

“It’s football. It’s a game of emotion,” Allen said. “I know he didn’t mean anything by it, and I know the cameras caught the last few seconds of what we were talking about. He’s an ultimate competitor, and he wants to win. That’s why he is who he is.”

Mahomes changed his tune on Monday, telling 610 Sports Radio that his actions were “not a great example for kids watching the game.”
