Knicks rumors: Team wants to hire Jason Kidd to lure Giannis Antetokounmpo

Knicks rumors Giannis Antetokounmpo

The New York Knicks are an absolute dumpster fire. They have been for some time now. Thanks, James Dolan.

On the other end of the spectrum, the Milwaukee Bucks have won 15 consecutive games and sit with an NBA-best 21-3 record.

This apparently isn’t stopping the Knicks from swinging for the fences in a ridiculous attempt to pry reigning NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo from Milwaukee.

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith, a known and frustrated Knicks fan, reported on Tuesday that the team is looking to hire Jason Kidd as their next head coach in an attempt to entice the Greek Freak to the Big Apple.

This is not a drill.

We are not even sure where to start here. If North America’s largest media market and unlimited endorsement deals are not going to entice stars to New York City, what in the world makes the Knicks think Kidd will?

This all stems from Antetokounmpo spending parts of four seasons playing under Kidd in Milwaukee. That included a 139-152 mark for the current Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach.

Antetokounmpo, 24 has one more season remaining on his contract after the 2019-20 campaign. There’s been speculation that he might want to play in a larger market than Milwaukee.

Even if that’s the case, the Knicks make absolutely no sense. They just fired head coach David Fizdale last week and are one of the worst-run organizations in professional sports.

What we saw from the front office this past summer magnified that even further. Let’s not even talk about owner James Dolan.

This is akin to the Knicks swiping right on Tinder without a profile picture. In layman’s terms, it’s not happening.
