The Indianapolis Colts went into the offseason determined to make substantial changes to return to prominence in the NFL. Now with the 2020 NFL season approaching, will the additions of Philip Rivers and DeForest Buckner be enough to make the Colts a contender? On the latest NFL Reckless Speculation podcast, TC and NFL editor Matt Johnson preview every Indianapolis Colts game for the 2020 season.
The NFL seemed to look out for the Colts before the 2020 season by creating a schedule with some easy matchups. The guys dive into how the Colts will handle a seemingly light schedule and discuss the influence a hot start can have on a team. If this team starts hot, could it provide the spark that makes the Colts a Super Bowl contender in 2020?
Indianapolis Colts schedule sets them up nicely for hot start
While the Colts start the 2020 season away from home, a matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars makes up for it. If the Colts can escape the early trap game, which TC and Matt expect to happen, they’ll return to Indianapolis with a chance to prove themselves against the Minnesota Vikings.
If the Colts can come out with a 2-0 record, their schedule sets up perfectly for a wonderful run. As Matt and TC explain, clashes against the New York Jets and Chicago Bears put them on the path for perfection. Unfortunately, the guys see that dream of an undefeated season quickly end in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns. Fortunately, we project them to rebound quickly before things get much tougher in the second half.
We continue with our game-by-game predictions for the 2020 season with an examination into the second half of the Colts’ schedule. Matchups against the Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers and Pittsburgh Steelers will prove difficult, but we expect a surprise win along the way.
