The San Francisco 49ers received some good news on Wednesday with Pro Bowl cornerback Richard Sherman proclaiming he will play this week.
Sherman missed last week’s loss to the Atlanta Falcons with a hamstring injury. It impacted the 49ers big time, especially on Julio Jones’ game-winning touchdown.
Currently in the midst of one of his best seasons as a pro, Sherman is yielding a sub 60 passer rating when targeted. He’ll be of major help as San Francisco looks to end the Los Angeles Rams’ playoff aspirations Saturday night at Levi’s Stadium.
The 49ers themselves head into Week 16 with an 11-3 record and tied for first place in the NFC West with Sherman’s former Seahawks team.
If they win out, Sherman and Co. will earn home-field advantage throughout the NFC Playoffs.
