NFL Week 6 is already here and it’s time to get those DraftKings lineups in place. So, let’s take a look at some DraftKings value plays as well as some overrated picks that simply are not worth the splurge this week.
Can we count on an NFC North quarterback who just lost his top wide receiver to deliver, or a salary-friendly NFC South quarterback who could have a breakout DFS performance? From these value picks to an overrated top running back facing a struggling Cleveland team, you might be surprised about our best DraftKings Week 6 picks and some players slated to come up short.
DraftKings Week 6 picks
DraftKings Week 6 picks: Quarterbacks
Kirk Cousins, Minnesota Vikings, $7,100
Week 6 is the time to roll with Kirk Cousins in DraftKings against the NFL’s worst passing defense. That would be the Chicago Bears, giving up the most DraftKings fantasy points to opposing QBs on the season. Even minus Justin Jefferson, Cousins should rack up tons of points through sheer passing volume alone.
Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams, $6,100
As the eighth-highest-priced QB, Matthew Stafford is a DraftKings value play facing the Arizona Cardinals. At home, Stafford should cook with his healthy corps of receivers facing a defense that is the fourth-worst in defending the pass.
Desmond Ridder, Atlanta Falcons, $5,000
Do you want a cheap DraftKings quarterback option for Week 6? Start Desmond Ridder against that giving Washington Commanders’ defense that last allowed 282 passing yards and four TDs to Justin Fields. Ridder enters Week 6 coming off his best fantasy performance to date (329 passing yards and one passing TD).
Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts, $5,000
It’s Minshew Mania time! Gardner Minshew is an inexpensive DFS QB with an inviting Week 6 matchup facing the Jacksonville Jaguars. Keep in mind that it was just last Sunday that Jacksonville allowed Josh Allen to throw for 359 yards and two touchdowns. The upside is here.
DraftKings Week 6 picks: Running Backs
Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints, $6,800
Alvin Kamara makes for a prime play in DraftKings in Week 6 squaring off against Houston. In five games, the Texans have given up the seventh-most DraftKings fantasy points to opposing RBs. And with this game likely not turning into another blowout, Kamara should remain heavily involved.
Raheem Mostert, Miami Dolphins, $6,400
It’s time to fire up Raheem Mostert at this affordable DraftKings salary now that De’Von Achane is on IR. Mostert has a fantastic Week 6 home matchup against the Panthers. On the season, the Panthers rank second-worst in defending running backs and have yielded 156.8 yards on average per game.
Zack Moss, Indianapolis Colts, $6,200
Priced 12th-cheapest at RB in DraftKings in Week 6 and $400 less than Jonathan Taylor, start Moss while he still has a hot hand in Indy. Last week, Moss sliced and diced up a Tennessee run defense that was a top-10 prior to the Colts’ damages. Even with a stiffer run defense in that of Jacksonville on tap, Moss could pay off.
D’Onta Foreman, Chicago Bears, $4,400
Priced ultra-cheap for a starting RB, D’Onta Foreman is a nice DFS value play in Week 6, provided Roschon Johnson (concussion protocol) misses this Sunday’s game. He’s worth a shot against a Vikings defense that is giving up an average of 16.8 RB DraftKings points per game.
Jordan Mason, San Francisco 49ers, $4,000
Jordan Mason is a sleeper play in DraftKings for Week 6. The 49ers head to Cleveland to face an offense that has put up only 76 lousy points this season. The 49ers could easily take a massive lead early on giving Mason the opportunity to rack up plenty of garbage time fantasy points. This would be if Elijah Mitchell looks to miss another game.
DraftKings Week 6 picks: Wide Receivers
Ja’Marr Chase, Cincinnati Bengals, $8,300
Priced $1,000 less than Tyreek Hill in DraftKings in Week 6, Chase has a cake matchup at home against Seattle. Look for him to build on last week’s rock star performance against a Seahawks defense that has given away the most WR fantasy points thus far. This includes opposing receivers averaging a league-high 227 yards per game.
Calvin Ridley, Jacksonville Jaguars, $6,700
Coming from a major Week 5 fantasy performance, Ridley is an affordable DFS value play hosting the Colts. Indianapolis has been eighth-worst against opposing wide receivers and has allowed 41.6 DraftKings points per game to the position. Christian Kirk priced at $5,400 is also an appealing Week 6 start.
D.J. Moore, Chicago Bears, $6,100
Priced extremely well, and fresh off of a three-TD performance, start D.J. Moore in Week 6 DFS lineups against the Vikings and expect more fireworks! The Vikings’ defense has been horrific and has surrendered the second-most fantasy points to its opposing WRs. Moore is primed for success.
Drake London, Atlanta Falcons, $4,800
The affordable Drake London/Desmond Ridder DraftKings stack in Week 6 might just pay off when the Commanders come to town. London just recorded a season-high 78 yards and he’ll face a Washington defense that last gave away 230 receiving yards and three TDs to the aforementioned D.J. Moore.
Jonathan Mingo, Carolina Panthers, $3,500
Jonathan Mingo is a cheap value play in Week 6 when the Panthers head to Miami. The Panthers are going to have to chuck the ball about 200 times to keep up and Mingo has the opportunity to pile up plenty of garbage yards. To date, the Dolphins have allowed the 10th-most WR fantasy points.
DraftKings Week 6 picks: Tight Ends
Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles, $4,800
As the fourth-highest-priced TE and coming off of his best fantasy performance of the year, Dallas Goedert offers extreme value in Week 6 DFS lineups. He next plays the New York Jets who happen to have given away the most tight end fantasy points. Need we say more?
Logan Thomas, Washington Commanders, $3,500
For those who want to save even more DraftKings salary at TE, give Thomas a start in Week 6. The Commanders head to Atlanta to face the NFL defense which is second-worst against opposing tight ends. Thomas was on fire last week when he recorded 77 yards and one TD.
DraftKings overrated plays Week 6
Quarterbacks:
Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles, $8,200
This game against the New York Jets could go lopsided quickly, making Jalen Hurts an overrated play in Week 6 DFS lineups. At $8,200, Hurts is the highest-priced at his position and he could be pulled out at some point, short-changing an entire game’s worth of fantasy points.
Running Backs:
Christian McCaffrey, San Francisco 49ers, $9,500
Similar to the Hurts scenario, CMC is quite lofty at $9,500 facing a struggling Cleveland team. This matchup could get away from the Browns really easily and there would be no reason to run McCaffrey into the ground the whole game. CMC will rank up there in fantasy points earned, however, a RB such as Raheem Mostert — mentioned above — and $3,100 cheaper could return nearly equal value.
Wide Receivers:
Amari Cooper, Cleveland Browns, $5,800
Amari Cooper is overrated facing the brutal 49ers defense and is playing without Deshaun Watson. Don’t fall for the trap and note that Cooper managed only 2.6 DraftKings points in Week 4 when Watson was sidelined.
Tight Ends:
Tyler Higbee, Los Angeles Rams, $4,000
Even at $4,000, Tyler Higbee is an overrated DraftKings pick in Week 6. Higbee’s fantasy value will likely remain on the decrease with Cooper Kupp back on offense and facing a Cardinals defense that has yet to give up one TE touchdown.
