The New York Giants put forth another ugly performance on Sunday as they were crushed by the (10-4) Dallas Cowboys 21-6. Sadly, nobody was surprised by the outcome.

New York’s offense was inept and overmatched for the entirety of the game. Quarterback Mike Glennon completed 13 out of 24 passes for just 99 yards and threw three interceptions. He was eventually benched in the 4th quarter for Jake Fromm who went on to complete six out of 12 passes for 82 yards and was sacked once.

A troubling theme in the past few seasons continued Sunday with the Giants’ offensive line being overwhelmed by DeMarcus Lawrence and the rest of the Cowboys from seven. While Dallas defense only registered one sack on the day, they constantly harassed Glennon and held Saquon Barkley to 50 yards on 15 carries.

To be fair to the Giants defense, they played well enough to keep the game from getting out of hand. Lorenzo Carter had one of the best games of his career, sacking quarterback Dak Prescott twice.

Big Blue held Prescott in check, taking away deep passes and limiting the Pro Bowl quarterback to just 217 passing yards and one touchdown on 37 attempts. But the Cowboys found success on the ground, with Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard combinining for 29 rushes for 126 yards and a touchdown.

Giants season ticket holders were “treated” to a medium soda as part of Fan Appreciation Day. In exchange, they had to endure watching another lackluster performance and clinched their fifth consecutive double-digit losing season.

To make matters worse, Sterling Shepard tore his Achilles in the 4th quarter, signaling the end of his season and leaving a cloud over his future.

Thankfully only three more games are remaining in what has been a wasted season. Last week there was speculation that head coach Joe Judge job is safe and that he’ll be back in 2022. But after another embarrassing home loss, ownership may feel a new voice and perspective is needed.

All the Giants can do now is to try to play spoiler and hurt the Philadelphia Eagles chances of making the playoffs when these two teams meet in Philly next Sunday.
