NFL DraftKings Wild Card Playoff picks: Top value plays and most overrated, including Joe Flacco

NFL Wild Card Playoff Weekend is already here and it’s time to get those DraftKings lineups in place. So, let’s look at some NFL DraftKings value plays and some overrated picks that are not worth your time this week.

To start, there is an AFC North quarterback who has been playing lights out and is tremendously priced in DraftKings. Aside from that, spending top dollar on a fantasy wideout who cannot be stopped as of late should be worth every penny.

From these value picks to an overrated tight end who has been on a downhill slope to a quarterback who has been struggling to put up his earlier season fantasy points, you might be surprised about our best DraftKings Wild Card Playoff picks and some players slated to come up short.

Matthew Stafford, Los Angeles Rams, $6,500

In a revenge game in Detroit, with the Lions giving up the third-most QB fantasy points, Matthew Stafford is a big value play in DraftKings for the Wild Card Playoffs. Stafford has averaged an impressive 289 passing yards over his last four games. Look for more loaded fantasy stats as the Rams attempt to continue their playoff run.

Joe Flacco, Cleveland Browns, $6,100

Flacco has scored no less than 22 DraftKings fantasy points since entering the scene in Week 14 as a starter. So, look for him to continue to knock it out of the park in Houston this weekend. As the 10th-highest-priced quarterback on the Wild Card Playoff slate, Flacco offers a ton of DFS upside.

Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, $5,800

Even cheaper, Mayfield is a value play in DraftKings hosting the Eagles for the Wild Card Playoffs. The Eagles are simply dreadful against quarterbacks and have given up the second-most fantasy points this season. Mayfield should be able to take advantage here.

Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs, $6,400

Priced seventh-highest in DraftKings for Wild Card Weekend, Pacheco is a smart play in DFS lineups. Coming from his best fantasy performance to date (32.5 DraftKings points), Pacheco should continue to get tons of touches, especially if the Chiefs gain the upper hand against Miami.

Aaron Jones, Green Bay Packers, $6,300

Since returning healthy to the field, Jones has averaged 135 combined yards per week over his last three games as well as receiving no less than 20 carries per clash in this stretch. The Packers are in their stride and should continue to keep their run game going even against a tougher Dallas defense.

David Montgomery, Detroit Lions $6,200

Priced fairly in DraftKings, Montgomery makes for a savvy DFS lineup choice as a running back who has rushed in a TD in each of his last three games. Look for more consistency from Montgomery as far as fantasy points in his savory home matchup against the Rams this Sunday.

Najee Harris, Pittsburgh Steelers, $5,400

Harris’ fantasy points have been increasing, making him an affordable DraftKings RB entering Wild Card Weekend. Look for Harris to hopefully continue to thrive facing a Bills defense that has given up 21.7 DraftKings fantasy points per game to its opposing RBs this year. We all know the Steelers aren’t exactly excelling in their passing game, which means Harris should stay busy.

CeeDee Lamb, Dallas Cowboys, $9,000

Even as the top-priced DraftKings WR for the Wild Card Playoffs, Lamb sports tons of value in DFS lineups. He should be well worth the spend after averaging 147.7 receiving yards over his last three contests. This includes Lamb scoring four TDs in this stretch as well. With everything on the line, Lamb is going to garner a massive target share this Sunday.

Puka Nacua, Los Angeles Rams, $7,200

Priced seventh-highest at WR in DraftKings, Nacua is a big value play in DraftKings. Nacua should shred a Lions defense that has allowed the third-most fantasy points to its opposing WRs. Do what you can to get Nacua into your DFS lineups.

Chris Godwin, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, $6,200

Godwin has a dream fantasy matchup against the worst defense in the NFL when it comes to defending wide receivers. The Eagles have surrendered a hideous 37.1 DraftKings fantasy points to WRs this season, making Godwin a extreme value play in Wild Card lineups. Fingers crossed!

Dontayvion Wicks, Green Bay Packers, $4,800

Wicks had his best fantasy performance of the year, after scoring 24.1 points in DraftKings last week. With Romeo Doubs and Christian Watson questionable to play and banged up, Wicks is a value play who could sneakily pay off heading to Dallas this Sunday.

David Njoku, Cleveland Browns, $5,600

Njoku and Joe Flacco have been completely dialed in, making this TE a smart play in DraftKings this weekend. Over his last four games, Njoku has been targeted 39 times, resulting in 373 yards and four TDs. At this DK salary, Njoku is a no-brainer to start in your Wild Card lineup.

Dallas Goedert, Philadelphia Eagles, $4,800

Cheaper at TE, Goedert is a nice option facing a Bucs defense that has yielded the third-most fantasy points to opposing tight ends. With the Eagles receivers dealing with injuries, Goedert should be leaned upon plenty as Philly fights to stay in the playoff race.

Tua Tagovailoa, Miami Dolphins, $7,000

On a fantasy point decline from his mid-season peak, Tagovailoa is overrated at this high DraftKings salary. Tagovailoa may be primed to disappoint again playing on the road in the elements against Kansas City. To date, the Chiefs have allowed the sixth-fewest QB fantasy points. There are better options.

Running Backs:

James Cook, Buffalo Bills, $6,600

With dismal fantasy performances over his last three games, Cook is a risky start in DraftKings for Wild Card weekend. Even at home, Cook could struggle to produce a solid stat line, with the Steelers having allowed only 13 total RB touchdowns all season. Plus, Josh Allen has been stealing a ton of rushing work in Buffalo lately.

Wide Receivers:

A.J. Brown, Philadelphia Eagles, $8,100

Priced third-highest in DraftKings, Brown’s salary is overrated for a WR who has not scored more than 14 points in his last four games. Couple this with the fact Brown is dealing with a knee injury, and playing on the road in Tampa, and look elsewhere for better starts in DraftKings.

Tight Ends:

Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs, $6,100

It’s hard to bite at Kelce being the highest-priced TE in DraftKings for Wild Card weekend. Kelce has not scored double-digit fantasy points since Week 14, making him highly overrated at this salary. There are better value plays noted above that offer way more fantasy potential.
