The New Orleans Saints are trying to upgrade their defense and have a top free agent in mind to help with that process. Ndamukong Suh, released by the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday, is a guy they’d love to land, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media, who reports they are working to set up a visit.
The #Saints may not be done in free agency. They have interest in former #Dolphins DT Ndamukong Suh and are working on bringing him in to visit, I’m told. Assuming that’s the first visit, it’s a good sign for their chances to add top-shelf front 7 help.

Landing the first visit with Suh could be huge, because there are a couple of other high-profile teams already linked to this Pro Bowl defensive tackle. That said, according to reports, it’s going to take more than a sexy sales pitch to lure Suh to an organization. He’s looking for top dollar, and that’s the most important thing on his mind.
Suh is still one of the more dominant defensive tackles in the game today. He has been known to take plays off but is still as disruptive as ever when his head is in the game. Adding him to a defensive line that features Cameron Jordan and Sheldon Rankins would give the Saints quite a formidable front. Which would only make the team’s improved secondary all the more dangerous.
