Ndamukong Suh to be a free agent after being released by Miami

Ndamukong Suh being released was one of the biggest stories Monday as the NFL tampering period kicked into high gear

The Miami Dolphins have been trying to trade defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh but got no takers ahead of the new league year. As such, they made the move to release the defensive tackle, making him a free agent.

Faced with a cap hit of over $26 million, this was an easy move for Miami to make. Suh is still a valuable player, but not at that price.

Last year in Miami, he started all 16 games, tallying 48 tackles and 4.5 sacks. Though his sack totals have been down a bit the past couple of years, Suh remains one of the most disruptive defensive tackles in the game and still has plenty of gas left in the tank.

Since being drafted No. 2 overall back in 2010, Suh has started all 16 games in all but one of his eight seasons, and the two games he missed in 2011 were due to the infamous foot stomp on Evan Dietrich-Smith.
