Newly minted Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Jacoby Brissett is going to be a rich man as he prepares for a Week 1 start against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Fresh off reports that Indianapolis was working on an extension for Brissett comes this report that the team has indeed signed him to a two-year, $30 million deal.
Brissett, 26, was immediately named the Colts starter after the surprise retirement of Andrew Luck during the preseason. The team has been high on him since acquiring the North Carolina State product from the New England Patriots ahead of the 2017 season.
Brissett finished with 13 touchdowns and seven interceptions en route to leading Indy to a 4-11 record in 15 starts as Luck’s replacement back in 2017. The expectation here is that he’s vastly improved.
