The Kansas City Chiefs may be fresh off their third Super Bowl win since 2019. Maybe we all should have seen it coming. After all, betting against Patrick Mahomes has proven to be a hopeless tactic.

Somehow, Mahomes has been viewed as an underdog in each of the past two Super Bowls, yet the Chiefs are 10-3 when Kansas City is not the favorite. It’s easy to see now, but the Chiefs were never really looked at as a dominant team throughout the 2023 season, and losing their season opener didn’t help.
Yet, once the playoffs were set to begin, Mahomes started getting a strong feeling about his chances of securing back-to-back Super Bowl wins.
Patrick Mahomes called Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl win in January
For just the second time in Patrick Mahomes’ life, he was beginning the postseason without a first-round bye, with the Baltimore Ravens enjoying those privileges instead. Yet, that didn’t lead to Mahomes feeling any less confident in the Kansas City Chiefs’ chances.
In fact, the Super Bowl LVIII MVP even knew he’d be hoisting his third Lombardi Trophy before the season even ended.
As his wife Brittany revealed, the realization came on Jan. 5, two days before Patrick battled the Los Angeles Chargers in the Chiefs’ regular season finale. Here’s Mahomes texting his wife a full month ahead of the Super Bowl, where he says he already knew what the future held.

I’m sure every player wishes they were good enough to simply ‘decide’ to win the Super Bowl. If that’s how easy it is for Mahomes, maybe he should try that approach again next year when the Chiefs seek a chance at becoming the first team to three-peat as Super Bowl champions.
