From football, to baseball, and other sectors of basketball, LeBron James loves sports, and he’s never shy about uplifting fellow athletes. Say what you want about the Los Angeles Lakers superstar, but his impact on the sports sphere cannot be denied.

So when LeBron speaks up or throws his support behind a fellow athlete, it garners some attention.

Recently, James highlighted two WNBA players who he’s become a big fan of.

LeBron James is at an interesting point in his life. Not only does he have a big summer ahead, deciding whether he wants to stay with the Lakers, or use his contract opt-out to become a free agent.

He’s also been paying close attention to what’s been said about his eldest son, Bronny James, who’s recently become draft-eligible, and has drawn all sorts of reviews, good and bad.

Perhaps it’s seeing what his son is going through, or maybe it’s just more of LeBron always being in tune to what else is going on around the sports world, but he can’t help but draw parallels between Bronny and Caitlin Clark.

While the two athletes may not have enjoyed similar amounts of success, Clark, like Bronny, has been the subject of a lot of criticism. Clark dominated in college, playing basketball for Iowa, but she’s off to a slower start after becoming the No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, with the Fever starting their season 0-5.

Clark has admitted that she needs to make several adjustments to her game, while stating that the game “feels a bit fast” right now. In other words, she hasn’t become the instant superstar many expected, but she also hasn’t played horribly.

She does lead the WNBA in turnovers, but she also has the most assists and 3-pointers made. Clark even has the third-most points in the league, but no matter what, she will always have critics, but not LeBron.

“For her individually, I don’t think she should get involved in (anything) that’s being said. Just go have fun, enjoy. I’m rooting for Caitlin because I’ve been in that seat before. I’ve walked that road before. I hope she kills. I hope (Indiana Fever forward) Aliyah Boston does amazing. I hope they do great.”
