It was earlier this week that Michigan Wolverines head football coach Jim Harbaugh interviewed for the same position with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Just a week removed from leading Michigan to the national championship, rumors of Harbaugh returning to the NFL won’t die down. His recent travel plans have added another layer to that.
We now have more information on Harbaugh and a potential return to the NFL. The Atlanta Falcons announced Tuesday evening that they have completed an interview with the former San Francisco 49ers head coach.
Harbaugh has been linked more to openings with the aforementioned Chargers as well as the division-rival Las Vegas Raiders. There is also a potential connection with the Dallas Cowboys depending on whether they opt to fire Mike McCarthy after Sunday’s humiliating loss to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card Playoffs.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported on Tuesday that the odds of Harbaugh returning to the NFL are great at this stage.
“I talked to a source close to Harbaugh who said the chances of him returning to Michigan at this point are probably pretty small. Certainly not out of the realm but he is intrigued about going back to the NFL,” report on Jim Harbaugh.
As for the Falcons, they could be a fit for Harbaugh. The team has built-in talent on offense in that of running back Bijan Robinson, tight end Kyle Pitts and wide receiver Drake London.
Quarterback play was an issue last season with sophomore signal caller Desmond Ridder struggling big time. However, Harbaugh would likely bring in his own guy at quarterback. Pure conjecture, but Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson or Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings could make sense.
As it stands, Falcons owner Arthur Blank is obviously going big-game hunting in a search for a new head coach to replace Arthur Smith after a trio of seven-win seasons under the recently-fired Arthur Smith.
