The Golden State Warriors have already pulled off one major blockbuster trade this summer, sending Jordan Poole to the Washington Wizards as part of a package for Chris Paul.
Meanwhile, the Indiana Pacers have been heavily involved in NBA trade rumors with the offseason getting going.
Could the two now come together to make a blockbuster trade during Thursday’s NBA Draft? According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo! Sports, Golden State has indeed talked to Indiana about a trade that would send stud young forward Jonathan Kuminga back east.
Golden State has had Kuminga, 20, on the trade block over the past couple weeks. The former No. 7 overall pick fell out of head coach Steve Kerr’s rotation during the NBA Playoffs despite having played at a high level during the latter part of the regular season (13.7 PPG, 4.4 RPG, 49% 3-point shooting).
As of right now it seems more likely than not that the Golden State Warriors will move off Kuminga if they can get a package involving a player and a first-round pick in Thursday’s NBA Draft. Something could very well happen on this front after new general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. included Ryan Rollins’ guaranteed contract in the aforementioned Poole-for-Paul swap.

As for the Indiana Pacers, Kuminga would give them a young wing to team up with the likes of Tyrese Haliburton and Bennedict Mathurin. Indiana has been linked to prospects at this position with the seventh pick.
In terms of how a trade might look, the Pacers could send the second of their two first-round picks (26th overall), other draft capital and a youngster such a Chris Duarte to Golden State. There’s also a chance Indiana flips the seventh pick and a lesser player in that of Jalen Smith to the Warriors for the 17th pick and Kuminga.
