The sudden, shocking retirement of Andrew Luck sent shockwaves throughout the sports world, and many Indianapolis Colts fans have reacted poorly, to say the least.
When news of Luck’s decision to retire hit, he and the Colts were still on the field during their third preseason game. When Luck walked off the field, he was loudly booed by many Colts fans in attendance.
Not surprisingly, those boos were tough for Luck to stomach: “I’d be lying if I said I didn’t hear it,” Luck said afterward. “Yeah, it hurt.”
On Monday, teammate Ryan Kelly was asked about what he thought about the fans booing his quarterback. His response was just about what you’d expect: “I thought it was bulls—, simple as that,” Kelly said, per Albert Breer of The MMQB.
Couldn’t have said it better myself.
Luck has received tons of support from his teammates, former and current coaches, Colts ownership, and many fans as well.
But the bad apples were, unfortunately, prominently on full display in the immediate aftermath of his stunning decision.
