While Andrew Luck and the Indianapolis Colt were in the middle of their preseason game against Chicago Saturday, the stunning news of his retirement broke.

Luck was in street clothes with his teammates on the sidelines when the news broke. Then as he walked off the field, Colts fans in the stadium revolted, booing the man who had led them to so many happy moments the past seven years.

One fan was videotaped tearing off his brand new Luck jersey, which still had the price tag on it.

We get it. This is an emotional deal for Colts fans. Yet booing Luck is one of the least classy things anyone could do. He’s been nothing but a model sportsman, teammate, and leader during his tenure with the Colts since being selected No. 1 overall back in 2012.

Simply put, Luck deserved better than this.
