Sportsnaut has updated our latest World Golf Rankings following each tournament during the 2023 PGA Tour season. Now that the Travelers Championship is complete, it’s time to refresh our golf rankings following an action-packed weekend.
The Travelers Championship concluded Sunday afternoon with Keegan Bradley entering the winner’s circle scoring 23-under par.
With his win, he earned 500 points and moved ten spots to No. 5 in the FedEx Cup standings while also moving up ten spots to No. 18 in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Overall, there are no changes to this week’s World Golf Rankings top 10. However, 2023 U.S. Open Champion Wyndham Clark moved up two spots to No. 11, and Justin Thomas moved up one spot to No. 17, with Bradley right behind.
Here are the top 10 players in the World Golf Rankings after the Travelers Championship.

10. Jordan Spieth (4.8960 average points)
Jordan Spieth took the Travelers Championship off, but it did not affect his World Golf Rankings position. He remains in the No. 10th spot as he looks to fine-tune things before heading to Europe for the Open Championship in a couple of weeks.
9. Max Homa (5.2677)
Max Homa, who missed the cut at the Travelers Championship by one stroke after two rounds. As a result of the points considering the last 40-52 eligible world golf rankings events, Homa remains at No. 9 while only losing less than one-tenth of a point.
In addition, Homa currently holds the third spot in the FedEx Cup standings with a 62-point lead on Clark as the Southern California native prepares for the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit this week.
8. Matt Fitzpatrick (5.3078)
Matt Fitzpatrick lost about 0.05 points but still held the No. 8 spot this week after finishing tied for 49th at the Travelers Championship, the final designated event of the 2022-23 PGA Tour schedule.
After recording a couple of 2-under 68s in the first and second rounds, Fitzpatrick was stalled by an even-par 70 on Saturday’s moving day before a 4-under 66 on Sunday as he will enter July in 29th place in the FedEx Cup Standings.

7. Cameron Smith (5.5815)
Cameron Smith is coming off a fourth-place finish at the U.S. Open last week at Los Angeles Country Club. He had this weekend off before preparing for the LIV Golf event, which takes place in Spain. However, there are no world rankings points in play for next week’s LIV Golf Valderrama.
After LIV Golf Valderrama, Smith will have one more LIV Golf event in London before he defends his Open Championship title at Royal Liverpool.
6. Xander Schauffele (6.4486)
Xander Schauffele is coming off a top-20 finish at the Travelers Championship, an event that he won last year. Schauffele could not score as high as he did last year, recording 14-under par as he was stalled by an opening round 68 and a couple of 67s in the third and fourth rounds. Schauffele did record a 6-under 64 in the second round, but not enough to defend his title.
Schauffele, who remains the PGA Tour leader at 28 consecutive made cuts, also sits at No. 12 in the FedEx Cup Standings as he prepares to defend his Scottish Open title in a few weeks before the Open Championship.
5. Viktor Hovland (6.6387)
Right behind Schauffele on the consecutive made-cuts list is Viktor Hovland, who has made 22 straight weekends. Hovland rose to No. 5 over the last few weeks after his win at the Memorial a couple weeks ago and a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship.
Currently sitting in sixth place of the FedEx Cup standings with a four-point lead over Rory McIlroy, Hovland is looking to finish the season strong.
4. Patrick Cantlay (7.5283)
Patrick Cantlay is one of two players in the top 10 with the minimum of 40 events taking into account of the rankings, along with Smith. Cantlay has been at the No. 4 position since his third-place finish at The Genesis Invitation in February. Cantlay, who placed fourth at the Travelers Championship this past week, recorded his best finish since the RBC Heritage in April.
The 2021 FedEx Cup Champion currently sits at No. 10 in the FedEx Cup standings and is tied with the reigning RBC Canadian Open winner Nick Taylor at 1,421 points.
3. Rory McIlroy (9.3567)
Rory McIlroy enters this week’s world golf rankings locked in at the No. 3 spot following his fifth consecutive top-10 finish after the Travelers Championship. In those five straight top-10 finishes, the former World No. 1 has three seventh-place finishes, including this past week.
McIlroy’s current stretch is a good sign heading into the rest of the season as he looks to avenge his third-place finish at the Open Championship next month while looking to defend his FedEx Cup in a couple of months.

2. Jon Rahm (10.1386)
Jon Rahm has been struggling compared to where he was leading up to his Masters victory. From January to mid-April at Augusta National, Rahm recorded four wins and eight top-10s in 10 events. From after the Masters until now, Rahm has just one runner-up finish and two top-10s with a missed cut in six events.
Rahm, who made the cut at the U.S. Open on the line en route to a T10 finish, struggled by missing the cut at the Travelers Championship. He is looking to turn things around as he heads across the pond in a couple weeks for the final major of the season.
1. Scottie Scheffler (12.0948)
As much as Rahm was cooking from January to mid-April, Scottie Scheffler has been cooking since the beginning of the season. With his T4 finish at the Travelers Championship with Cantlay and Chez Reavie, Scheffler has six straight top-5 finishes dating back to the AT&T Byron Nelson when he tied for fifth on Mother’s Day. Furthermore, Scheffler has 10 top-5 finishes in his last 13 starts dating back to his T4 finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational in March.
Scheffler, who trailed Rahm by 787 points after the Masters, has cut the deficit down to 152 points in the FedEx Cup standings. He did that without winning as the season’s final stretch approaches with a major before the Tour Championship in August.
