The Washington Redskins opened training camp without Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams, and his holdout will reportedly continue indefinitely.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported live on NFL Network that there is “no end in sight to Trent Williams’ holdout.
“This is expected to be a lengthy and very complicated holdout for Trent Williams,” Rapoport said.
Williams is reportedly still very upset with Washington for the way its medical staff handled his recent health scare, which required multiple procedures on his scalp: “The frustration with the medical staff still looms there,” Rapoport said.
Furthermore, Williams is also seeking a contract extension.
“This, of course, could all get better if he were to reach either a contract extension or get a raise this year — just to get him in better standing with the team,” Rapoport said.
However, the situation reportedly has “not changed at all,” and Rapoport notes Williams’ holdout will continue until it does, he’s not expected at Redskins training camp.
