Washington Commanders Pro Bowl wide receiver Terry McLaurin was on the field late in the second quarter of Monday night’s game against the Baltimore Ravens.
It was already a questionable decision from head coach Ron Rivera to have his best receiver on the field that late in a meaningless game.
Unfortunately for the Commanders, McLaurin exited the game late in the second quarter with a toe injury. The play in question shows the injury.
McLaurin, 27, was seen talking with trainers before limping to the locker room ahead of the rest of his teammates.
On one hand, it makes sense for the Commanders to have McLaurin on the field with newly minted starting quarterback Sam Howell still under center. On the other hand, why risk injury to your top skill-position player so late in a preseason game?
