Despite his blue hair and impressive physique, Terron Beckham won’t be joining the New York Jets any time soon.
After showing off his skills during the team’s rookie mini-camp over the weekend, Beckham failed to land a contract with Gang Green. Per Rich Cimini of ESPN, “The team has no plans to sign him now or in the foreseeable future.”
Beckham, like his cousin Odell Beckham Jr. (who recently set the bar awfully high talking about his relative), is still supremely confident in himself and his future in the NFL.
I have faith good things will happen regardless #blessed

He told reporters over the weekend that he sees himself as a Chris Ivory-type back.
“I think I can offer an every-down back type of deal,”Beckham said, per Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News. “I have speed. I have power (and) explosiveness. … I know people want to see if I can take hit, which I believe I can, of course. I definitely think I’ll be a good fit especially since Chris Ivory just left. I see myself as kind of that Chris Ivory-type of back.”
The biggest obstacle that stands in his way is that Beckham hasn’t played any competitive football since high school.
As impressive as his 5-foot-11, 230-pound sculpted body is, being a personal trainer and part-time model isn’t exactly going to prepare one for an NFL career.
Still, it seems likely that other teams might kick the tires on this impressive athlete. Beckham blew scouts away with an impressive workout recently, posting numbers that rival or are better than any running back entering the league this year.
So, while the Jets are saying no right now, there is still a chance that Beckham will get a shot at fighting for a roster spot this summer on another squad that is willing to give him a chance.
