The San Francisco 49ers on Monday officially signed former All-Pro cornerback Josh Norman to a one-year deal.

The team released CB Dontae Johnson to make room for Norman on the 53-man roster.

The 33-year-old’s new deal has incentives that would take his salary to a maximum of $2.5 million, per reports.

Norman has played nine seasons in the league for the Carolina Panthers (2012-15), Washington Football Team (2016-19) and Buffalo Bills (2020). He earned his lone All-Pro and Pro Bowl selection in 2015.

In 120 career games (95 starts), Norman has collected 15 interceptions with three returned for touchdowns. He also has 440 tackles, 83 pass breakups, 13 forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and one sack.

He played just nine games for Buffalo last season, making three starts.

Jason Verrett and Emmanuel Moseley top San Fran’s depth chart as the starting outside cornerbacks with K’Waun Williams the nickel corner.

Johnson, 29, has played in 87 games (25 starts) in his career, all but three of those in a 49ers uniform. He has two career interceptions, both of which were returned for touchdowns.
