Report suggests Andrew Luck extended Europe trip due to favorable results

Andrew Luck should be back on American soil sometime next week following an extended stay in Europe, where he was seeking treatment for his ailing shoulder.

A new report from Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star indicates there is some positive news behind his decision to remain overseas a bit longer than anticipated.

Holder also doesn’t discount the possibility that Luck has already begun throwing the ball. He responded to a question on Twitter about Luck throwing once he returns by writing, “Presumably. But here’s some food for thought: What if he’s ALREADY doing some throwing? The optimism we’re getting from sources has to be based on something. And it *could* be that.”

Obviously, it would be tremendous news for Luck and the Colts if he were already able to throw without pain or swelling in his shoulder. It’s been reported quite recently that Luck could need another surgery if he experienced pain after throwing the ball again.

Without their star quarterback, the Indianapolis Colts have been through a season of hell, winning just three games so far. The entire roster still needs to be improved, but there’s no doubt a healthy Andrew Luck would have led this team to more than three wins. He’s one of the top young quarterbacks in the league when healthy and has the ability to elevate everyone around him.

Hopefully, Luck will be available to the Colts next year.
