Report: Bills will trade up for a QB after moving Tyrod Taylor

The Cleveland Browns might be the buzz of the NFL world on the last Friday prior to free agency, but one of the teams they made a trade with is going to be making some news here shortly.

Fresh off dealing starting quarterback Tyrod Taylor to Cleveland for the first pick in the third round of April’s draft, the Bills are reportedly set to trade up for a quarterback of their choosing during the annual event.

According to CBS Sports NFL insider Jason La Canfora, the Taylor trade is a precursor to Buffalo using some of its excess draft capital to move up for a top-end quarterback prospect in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.

Previous reports had suggested that the Bills are smitten with former UCLA signal caller Josh Rosen. Though, reigning Heisman winner Baker Mayfield is now seemingly firmly in the mix.

Who the Bills target will likely dictate how far they need to move up. As to where Rosen will likely be gone within the first three picks, Mayfield might not hear his named called until the teens.

Boasting the 21st and 22nd picks in the draft, Buffalo has a ton of capital to move up. Now that the team has acquired an early third-round selection in the Taylor trade, it owns five of the first 65 picks in the draft.
