The Washington Redskins have not done anything to quell the dissatisfaction of star left tackle Trent Williams, who reportedly will hold out of training camp.
Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network broke the news on this story Monday afternoon. At the heart of the issue Williams is upset about remains the organization’s lack of care for an offseason health scare that thankfully turned out to be a minor issue.
At this point, it’s unclear if Williams would be healthy enough to get medical clearance, which Rapoport notes “is not a given” given his medical scare and subsequent scalp surgeries.
This entire situation is clearly a complicated one that may not see any resolution for some time. If Williams were healthy and passed a physical, then there’s a chance any number of teams would be interested in trading for the Pro Bowler. Yet if he won’t report amid this ongoing health issue, everything is on pause.
