Cleveland Browns star Nick Chubb suffers likely season-ending knee injury on brutal play

  • Update: NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport reports that Nick Chubb suffered what is expected to be a season-ending knee injury with multiple torn ligaments Monday night. He’ll have further tests to confirm the diagnosis.

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb is no stranger to overcoming devastating knee injuries. Back in 2015 with the Georgia Bulldogs, Chubb suffered tears to the PCL, MCL and LCL of his left knee. He also dislocated his knee.

Shockingly, Chubb returned the following season and showed out for Georgia. It led to him being selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Browns.

We’re not going to speculate on the severity of the knee injury Chubb suffered Monday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. But it did not good look on tape. In fact, ABC refused to show a replay of the injury due to its grotesque nature. We’ll just link for you if you want to see it.

Chubb was ultimately taken off the field in a cart. As of publication of this article, Chubb was already ruled out for the remainder of the game.

Prior to going down, Chubb had put up 64 rushing yards on 10 attempts. That came on the heels of the star back tallying 127 total yards in a Week 1 win over the Cincinnati Bengals.

Nick Chubb stats (2022): 302 attempts, 1,525 rushing yards, 239 receiving yards, 1,764 total yards, 13 TD

Chubb, 27, is considered one of the best running backs in the NFL. No one wants to see a player go down like this.

We’ll have further updates on his status as they become available.
