The NBA hasn’t seen Draymond Green in a Golden State Warriors uniform since his controversial incident with Jusuf Nurkic and the Phoenix Suns on December 12.
But on Saturday, Green was reinstated from his suspension by the NBA after undergoing counseling treatment during a 12-game absence that lasted nearly a month. The Warriors have gone 7-5 in his absence.
At the time of his suspension, Green’s eventual return was dependent upon the progress made during his time away from the team. Apparently, Green has shown enough growth for everyone to agree that a return to action would be best.
- Draymond Green stats this season: 9.7 PPG, 5.5 RPG, 5.8 APG, 0.7 BPG, 0.4 SPG, 49% FG, 42.9% 3PT
Yet, the Warriors won’t get their two-time All-NBA enforcer back just yet. Due to his lengthy absence, Green is not quite in peak basketball shape, as can be expected from anyone who isn’t allowed to practice with the team at full speed.
In turn, Green may need at least a week before taking the floor with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and the rest of his Warriors teammates. It may come at the perfect time for a Warriors team that’s seemingly unraveling behind the scenes with several young players calling out the coaching staff.
