Miami Heat injury report: Maurice Harkless questionable with a thigh injury
- Position: Small forward
- Status: Questionable
- Injury: Thigh
- Team impact: After nine games of being listed as out for Miami, Maurice Harkless is questionable to play Thursday night. The Heat’s struggles on defense have been very noticeable since Harkless went down with a thigh injury against the Nets. He should have some role in their rotation when he returns due to his defensive abilities.
Goran Dragic injury update
- Position: Point guard
- Status: OUT
- Injury: Ankle
- Team impact: The Miami Heat lost a significant piece last Friday night when Goran Dragic exited the game with a left ankle sprain at the beginning of the fourth quarter. Dragic is listed as out for Thursday night’s game and will remain out indefinitely. Kendrick Nunn will most likely remain the starting point guard for the foreseeable future.
Avery Bradley injury update
- Position: Shooting guard
- Status: OUT
- Injury: Calf
- Team impact: After Avery Bradley returned from his absence due to COVID-19, he went on the injury report due to a knee injury and missed a few games. He now goes on the injury report with a calf strain after leaving in last week’s loss against the Washington Wizards. Calf strains can be tricky injuries that can linger and it has already been reported Bradley will at least miss 3-4 weeks with the injury.

Meyers Leonard injury update
- Position: Center
- Status: OUT
- Injury: Shoulder
- Team impact: The loss of Meyers Leonard isn’t a significant one from a rotation standpoint, but the reports of Leonard undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery is not a positive outcome for the team. Leonard signed a one-year, $9 million contract last offseason and will now be lost for the season. The Heat should be able to apply for a disabled player exception that would help them bring in another player in his place.
Chris Silva injury update
- Position: Power Forward
- Status: OUT
- Injury: Hip
- Team impact: Chris Silva does not have a major role in the Heat’s rotation due to the others that are ahead of him. The only situation that Silva’s injury could be a cause of concern is if COVID-19 or injuries strike the team again. There is no timetable available for Silva’s return as of this moment.

Gabe Vincent injury update
- Position: Point guard
- Status: Probable
- Injury: Knee
- Team impact: When Tyler Herro went down with a neck injury, it was Gabe Vincent who helped take the reigns at starting point guard. Vincent has been able to play through his knee injury, which dates back to surgery in the postseason. Vincent should be good to go, but the only question will be whether he plays in the rotation.
