It is no secret that Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson is a man of strong faith. He recently discussed in an interview that he and girlfriend Ciara are practicing abstinence until they are married.
Furthermore, Wilson claimed that God spoke to him after he threw that devastating interception that ultimately led to the Seahawks Super Bowl loss to the New England Patriots in February.
Due to all of Wilson’s public remarks as of late, Chicago Bears tight end Martellus Bennett took to posting to his Twitter account regarding the quarterback’s connection with God.

Bennett has never been shy about ruffling feathers via social media. However, his jabbing at Wilson might be taking things a bit too far.
Because of Wilson’s faith, he obviously attracts a certain following similar to that of fellow quarterback Tim Tebow. With it comes negativity from some naysayers around the football world. Bennett obviously falls in that latter category.
It will be interesting to see if Wilson responds to Bennett’s chatter. It will also be interesting to see if Bennett’s brother, a defensive end for Seattle, sticks up for his quarterback.
