Kansas City Chiefs star sends cryptic social media post, creating widespread speculation

Kansas City Chiefs star defensive tackle Chris Jones has been in the news a lot since helping his team to a win over the San Francico 49ers in the Super Bowl last month.

The All-Pro defender played a huge role in that overtime win. He’s also now set to hit free agency in less than a week unless Jones and the Chiefs can come to terms on a long-term contract before the market opens.

Speculation has pointed to Jones and the Chiefs finding a way to remain married long-term. It hasn’t stopped rumors from circulating that Jones could test the free agent waters.

He might have put an end to those rumors with a cryptic post on social media. Check it out.

The post is simply captioned “KC” with a photo of Chiefs head coach Andy Reid hugging Jones after their Super Bowl win in February.

Let’s be clear for a second. Jones is not a stranger to these types of social media posts. It was earlier in the month that he responded to a Chiefs fan on X about the star defensive tackle potentially signing with the hated division-rival Las Vegas Raiders.

Jones, 29, is one of the best all-around players in the game. We’re not just talking about on the defensive side of the ball. He’s earned five consecutive Pro Bowl trips, was a finalist for the NFL Defensive Player of the Year award in 2022 and has recorded a whopping 67 sacks over the past six seasons.

Despite this, Jones and the Kansas City Chiefs were not able to come to terms on an extension ahead of the 2023 season. It actually led to him holding out through Week 1 of the regular season.
