While solidifying his place as one of the very best players on the planet, 2023 Masters champion Jon Rahm also landed himself a record amount of money for winning the legendary golf tournament.
This year’s Masters was as eventful as any in the tournament’s history. While the event from Augusta, Georgia featured golf icon Tiger Woods, as well as PGA Tour players competing against LIV Golf stars, the weather created the most headlines for the event.
Strong winds ahead of a storm on Friday led to a scary situation where several trees fell during the 17th hole while play was going on, and action was suspended on Friday and Saturday due to bad weather. Yet, in the end, the players dictated the final memories from this year’s edition as Jon Rahm added a new chapter to his growing legacy in the sport.

Heading into the final round of the 2023 Masters, LIV star Brooks Koepka maintained the lead he held for much of the tournament. However, Rahm was right on the American’s heels throughout and was four strokes out on Sunday. Midway through Round 4, Jon Rahm caught fire and was able to overtake Koepka and get a lead he would not relinquish.
Rahm, 28, entered the event having one major — the 2021 US Open — on his resume, but after this weekend he now as a second after winning the 2023 Masters with a score of 12-under par. The victory also moved the Spanish talent to the top spot in the world golf rankings.
While landing the much-coveted green jacket and No. 1 rankings is all fine and good, the money is a major part of why these gentlemen do this, and Jon Rahm made some money-making history on Sunday. In winning the Masters 2023, he earned the most in tournament history when he banked $3.24 million.
His purse from this year’s event reportedly takes his winnings for 2023 to a whopping $13 million in less than 100 days into this season.
