The Dallas Cowboys dominated the NFC East in 2016. But that is practically ancient history as this division has been all about the Philadelphia Eagles this past year.
This is something that Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is having a hard time digesting, though. In fact, he shared this hilarious response when he attended the NFL Honors celebration last Saturday night.
“The muffled voice you have been hearing is me screaming in my pillow over not being here and seeing Philadelphia,” Jones said, per Clarence E. Hill Jr. of The Star-Telegram.”
Jones also said that he is not satisfied with his franchise, which has not played in a Super Bowl since 1995.
The Cowboys fell short on many levels this past season and finished 2017 at 9-7. This was four games less than the Eagles won. The NFC East is a tough division to play within and things won’t come any easier with quarterback Carson Wentz returning healthy and quarterback Alex Smith joining the Washington Redskins.
Plus, a new head coach for the New York Giants should help this team become more competitive in 2018.
Hopefully, Jones keeps his pillow handy for more screaming, because there are bound to be some challenges waiting around the corner for the Cowboys come September.
