Months after the Eagles were mocked for using their second-round pick on Jalen Hurts, fans have relentlessly called for a quarterback change in recent weeks. With Carson Wentz playing like one of the worst quarterbacks in the NFL, something is finally being done.

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Hurts is expected to play more snaps on Monday night against the Seahawks. While he has been used as a gadget player this season, the Eagles reportedly intend to give him a shot at quarterback in Week 12.
Pederson reportedly went into his Week 12 preparation aiming to get Hurts more involved. The rookie received more first-team practice reps throughout the week and will be featured in more offensive packages against Seattle.
It’s a decision that many have been waiting for. Wentz threw another horrendous interception in Week 11, adding to his league-leading 14 interceptions this season. Pederson kept sticking with his guy, even after Sunday’s loss, leading to speculation that it could lead to his termination.

Even Philadelphia’s upcoming opponent suggested Hurts should replace Wentz. However, despite his 73.3 quarterback rating and 58.4% completion rate, Pederson will keep Wentz as the starter in Week 12.
While he might have the job now, his spot atop the depth chart is clearly in jeopardy. If Hurts makes some plays in his expanded role on Monday night, the calls will grow even louder for him to become the starter.
