Chicago White Sox reinstate Aaron Bummer from 10-day injured list

The Chicago White Sox reinstated left-hander Aaron Bummer from the 10-day injured list and made four other roster moves on Friday.

They recalled right-hander Reynaldo Lopez from Triple-A Charlotte and optioned right-hander Matt Foster and left-hander Jace Fry to Charlotte.

Infielder/outfielder Jake Lamb also was sent to Charlotte on a rehabilitation assignment prior to Friday night’s series opener against the visiting Houston Astros.

Bummer, 27, had been on the injured list since June 30 with a strained right hamstring. He is 1-4 with two saves and a 3.26 ERA in 32 relief appearances in 2021.

Lopez, 27, has spent the entire season at Charlotte, going 1-6 with a 7.62 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 10 starts.

Foster, 26, is 2-1 with one save and a 6.15 ERA in 26 relief appearances this season with Chicago.

Fry, 28, has allowed three runs in two innings over two games in 2021 after starting the season on the injured list following back surgery.

Lamb, 30, has been on the IL since June 29 with a strained right quadriceps. He is batting .224 with five home runs and 10 RBIs in 31 games.
