Cal QB Chase Garbers out long term, may not play again this season

Chase Garbers injured

The California Golden Bears will not have starting quarterback Chase Garbers for quite some time, and he may not play again this season.

Garbers was injured during Friday night’s tough loss to Arizona State. He was scrambling to his left and got tripped up, and video showed he landed extremely hard on his shoulder.

Before exiting the Week 5 game, Garbers had been having a very strong season for the Bears, passing for 952 yards with eight touchdowns and two interceptions.

With Garbers out, it appears UCLA transfer Devon Modster will take over for the foreseeable future.
