Buffalo Bills player could face serious punishment after being caught on video shoving Philadelphia Eagles fan

Buffalo Bills defensive end Shaq Lawson could be in serious trouble with the NFL after he was caught on video getting into a verbal altercation and then shockingly shoving a Philadelphia Eagles fan yesterday afternoon.

It has been a frustrating last month for the Bills. The team suffered a pair of surprising losses to begin November which led to the public bashing of the offense and the play of 2022 MVP candidate Josh Allen. In response to their recent performances, they fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and bounced back with a dominant win over the New York Jets last week.

However, Buffalo blew an early lead in a major matchup against the league-leading Eagles and eventually fell to the NFC East squad in overtime, 37-34. The defeat dropped the team’s record to 6-6 and pushed them a little further out from the AFC playoff picture.

The disappointing result was just one of many in a season where there was real hope that the roster could finally reach its potential and get Buffalo back to their first Super Bowl since 1994. It seems that frustration — with the likely help of some obnoxious Eagles fans — hit a tipping point during the Bills game yesterday.

Following their latest defeat, a video made its way on social media showing defensive tackle Jordan Phillips aggressively walking up to and confronting an Eagles fan in the stands behind the Buffalo Bills bench. He was followed to the verbal altercation by Shaq Lawson and a couple of other players.

As Phillips and the fan bantered back and forth very closely, Lawson was saddled up next to his teammate and let the anger of the moment get to him as he actually shoved the Eagles supporter. Security and cooler heads led to a separation and the fan seemed to be fine, however, that was a big mistake by the 29-year-old.

Obviously, NFL fans are not allowed to do and say whatever they want, but a player getting physical with an individual attending a game is an absolute no-no and will likely lead to an investigation by the league and a potentially serious penalty for Lawson. The video certainly does not make a case that Lawson was in the right during the clash.
