One day after releasing one of the best players in franchise history, Gerald McCoy, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are replacing him with another Pro Bowler.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Tampa Bay is signing star defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh to a one-year contract.
Suh, 32, has been on the market longer than most anticipated. The five-time Pro Bowler last suited up for the Los Angeles Rams in 2018, recording 19 quarterback hits and 4.5 sacks.
Suh is an adequate replacement for McCoy in that he offers the same type of pass-rush ability from the interior of the defensive line.
The former No. 2 overall pick has recorded 56 sacks in nine seasons.
