Report: Buccaneers to release six-time Pro Bowl DT Gerald McCoy

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have reportedly told six-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Gerald McCoy that he’ll soon be released.

Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reported that the Bucs told McCoy, who was set to make $13 million in 2019, that he’ll soon be released. He also noted that Tampa has given permission to talk with other teams.

McCoy was selected third overall by the Bucs in 2010.

He made six Pro Bowls (2012-2017), was First-team All-Pro from 2012-2014 and Second-team All-Pro in 2016.

In 2018, he recorded six sacks and was in on 28 tackles for the Buccaneers.
