The Cleveland Browns will not have starting free safety Damarious Randall for their upcoming “Monday Night Football” showdown against the New York Jets.
Randall reported to team facilities on Saturday with a concussion, was placed in the league’s concussion protocol and has been ruled out of the Week 2 contest, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
Since coming over from Green Bay in a trade last year, Randall has been a key player on Cleveland’s defense. He started 15 games last year and was a starter in Week 1 against Tennessee when he tallied four tackles.
Randall made waves this week when he took a big swipe at former defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Now, he won’t get a chance to get back at Williams Monday night.
